Arthritis Cure May Lie In Your Belly |
Bad bugs in our guts can cause any number of short-or even long-term illnesses. Most of these we attribute to gastrointestinal disturbances like diarrhea, vomiting, gas, reflux, and many other digestive woes.
Emerging science is now showing, however, that some nasty little buggars in the stomach are causing a lot more than gas.
According to new research recently released from the department of rheumatology at NYU School of Medicine, the culprit to devastating inflammation causing Rheumatoid Arthritis, or RA, may be a microbe living in the stomach.
The researchers turned to an unconventional location in their study participants to find evidence of what may be causing the inflammation…their fecal matter.
The researchers used DNA analysis to discover that a form of bacteria called prevotella copri was more abundant in the fecal matter of participants who had RA, and much less so in that of those who do not have the auto-immune disease.
It was also noticed that high concentrations of p. copri was associated with lower numbers of good gut bacteria, from the genus Bacteroides.
While the researchers were quick to point out that this study only shows an association, and not a cause/effect relationship, they did stress that it is long known that hundreds of species of digestive bacteria are critical to healthy immune systems. Therefore, it can be concluded that the link between high concentrations of p.copri and the assault on good bacteria is also linked with the occurrence of RA.
The researchers did not address what could be causing the higher-than-optimum concentrations of p. copri, or if the high concentrations were directly responsible for killing off good bacteria.
However, it is held by natural health practitioners that the processed food dominating Western diets seems to be very closely linked to inflammation, and that making simple changes makes all the difference in the world.
Find out here how I easily defeated my RA without drugs, and I did it in less than a month….
