The Hidden Health Risk of Arthritis |
We all know that arthritis is an immune system disorder in which the body mistakenly attacks its own cells.
It’s a chronic condition which tends to affect joints in the hands and feet and causes painful swelling which can eventually cause joint deformity and bone erosion.
As if that isn’t bad enough, there is a hidden health risk to having arthritis that in a way has nothing to do with the disease itself.
Upon till recently, this hidden health risk hasn’t been studied much. But researchers in United Kingdom set out to change that.

Those living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and its debilitating effects have the added insult of being highly susceptible to repeated falls and their associated injuries including head injuries and fractures, according to a recent study from the United Kingdom.
Due to swollen, damaged joints, fatigue and side effects of medications to treat RA, these falls happen more frequently and much less randomly than for those who do not have RA.
The chances of repeated falls after the first fall increase significantly, especially for men. This is why telling your healthcare professional about previous falls is so important.
Although these findings may not be surprising (especially if you’re familiar with arthritis), they’re still important because they highlight the need to be extra cautious when suffering from this condition.
Even more importantly, this study shows that the solution traditional medical system has for arthritis – that is medications – can actually make the problem worse. It’s therefore important to seek all natural solutions that do not cause side effects like medications do.
